BBS RS Wheels purchased on Rennlist don't fit :/ Help please
Hey all
I purchased a set of wheels off the forum a couple of years ago from another member, I was assured they would fit a NB 964 C2 but now that I've finally got around to fitting them, they're way off.
I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to wheel offsets etc so just took his word that these were built for a NB 964 and would fit. The advertised specs on the wheels are as follows
Do you think these wheels would fit with an aggressive offset (fronts especially)? My garage didn't seem to think so. btw, I will be going for the very low suspension look.
Has anyone run wheels with this offset with their NB 964? I have read of others using ET42 on the front but they certainly don't seem to be sticking out as far as mine are.
If it's the case that these won't fit, would I be able to rebuild them to fit? I've seen plenty of stepped-up BBS RS on 964's but not sure if they were built using RS013/RS014 faces
There is a front fitment for E88s that is similar, it is very aggressive on a C2. I think I remember seeing this set for sale and I passed because I'm pretty conservative with my wheel/tire fitment. If the posted specs are correct, the rear should fit and the front can fit, with work.
That said - in your pictures, your suspension is fully extended - the wheels should pull in a good amount when compressed. Dont try to do it with a jack on the wheel, that's dangerous and could damage parts as well. Even the wood and pads as show in your picture can bend the wheel halves - never put weight on a wheel without a tire.
If you are wanting that look and are willing to work to get there, you can possibly make these fit. Aggressive alignment and fender rolling is what I've seen others do on the e88 fitment. Either way, you should get a tire mounted up to see if you have the appetite for the work/mods involved.
You can't check fitment at Full Droop. They will fit with some -camber and the proper tire sizes but it depends on what your'e trying to achieve. At stock height and alignment specs, they will look like crap.
In my avatar, I'm running 8.5 et40 in the front and 10 et35 in the rear..
I built a set of RS 013 in 8.5/10, I don't recall the final offsets but more aggressive than yours for sure...
Changing them to face mounted centers from traditional sandwich moved them an additional 1/2" inch inside the fender.
I don't see how they would fit. I run turbo 8x18Et52 fronts with 3mm spacers and 10x18ET61 rears with 5mm spacers.
Rolled fenders and I rub if I go any lower than RS+5mm over hard bumps at speed. I am running very stiff springs and mcs 2ways relatively aggressive track street setup. I doubt you will find a better handling C2 out there. By me I still have issues with bottoming the car out and slight rubbing on one side. Car is original body never damaged but they vary slightly from the factory side to side.
I guess I could go wider but what would it gain?
Those rear wheels will sit 10mm further out than mine. More than likely will rub unless extreme negative camber and narrower than spec tires stretched which is good for looks but not so good for handling. The stock rears in 18's for the RoW cup cars were 9.5 x 18 ET47
"I will be going for the very low suspension look."
To do this, you need the correct tire sizes, camber settings and fender work which are not the norm for most people who drive these cars but there are lots of them out there.
I would start by confirming the specs he listed, looking at it more, those fronts seem more aggressive than a 8" et42... First, measure your backspace...
I should add I run 225/265 turbo size tires. Tire choice can make a difference as well depending on sidewall design so consider each factor as you go.
LionelB I do have some minor rubbing up font at full lock so I have to be conscious not to push it the extra little when maneuvering in tight spaces. I am running 993 uprights up front and with the stock front uprights I did not have the rubbing issue for some reason yet to be determined.

I see, same as me then except I do not have any spacer which may make mine a bit worse.
