I agree - but it's well past the point where it's just about money. The real deals are simply not available in most cases. Singer will be able to make some people happy. I'm for it, even if it's not my taste or budget If there's a market, let the people buy them.

Cannot believe the same company that made the other beautiful stuff has proposed this beastly thing. Big no from me.
Maybe it does this:

Of course, but who is affording these and then using them?

My car looks just the same, I can drive it, and it has it's own provenance that is pretty cool.

I totally get it how Singer started. Essentially a cost no object resto mod of an icon. Having covered a couple hundred twisty miles in one I was impressed to the point of buying a really nice "vanilla" C2 which I truly enjoy. I loved my Singer experience though I am pretty obsessed with what Porsche created originally so I am very happy with an original car. Clearly the Singer is a visceral machine for my drives and rallies the C2 is lovely. While I appreciate the original Singer intent the variations to extend their market do nothing for me. The DLS is a bit of a marvel in many of its details it lacks the essence of the original series. The Turbo is fine and well executed but still feels like "well we have to add something new" and does not hit that special feeling.

This new iteration for me screams "what the F#(% do we build next" in complete desperation. Just because they can do it does not mean they should. They have a exceptional team and have created the capacity to transform cars at a pretty good clip so it's understandable why they are pushing, I just am not a fan of the direction. If I had made vast sums of money and wanted something special it would be a elegant and technical extension of the original concept but that is just me. In conclusion I am in the 'puke' camp.

I am very curious to look closely in a newer build (and not one of the ones that they build for essentially "press").

On the earlier ones, I have also seen some questionable build quality, but admittedly the sample size of those I've looked closely at in person is tiny. I think also, when they first launched (and the ones I've seen were built), I think they were closer to 350-400k (my memory suck but I think that's right). I think part of the problem is they got such a high profile boost from Top Gear that demand heated up super quickly and in order to take advantage of that publicity with their small team, they probably cut more corners than they would've liked. That's why I'm interested to see a newer one which has been built a) since the public profile has calmed a bit and b) the team has been grown considerably, so hopefully the quality is improved.

IF I were to send my 964 to a shop and have it transformed into something, it wouldn’t be Singer, but RUF.

Wealthy people are so bored sometimes. I see this car at cars and coffee and I'm making fun on it and the owner.

They were closer to that price, they are more than 2x that now. The build quality and finish quality (visual) is very high level now. OEM+ I've heard from those who own the driving experience and calibration/refinement is OEM level.

They are building a nice product now. I frankly didn't think they would make it. But they seem to have mostly figured it out...

I think my favorite of their range is the 930, it really impressed me in person.

They are just... very expensive. !

Singer has grown to quite a force in the 911 world and their craftsmanship is stunning on most of their cars. I do not like the styling of the car that is the topic of this thread but I do love many of their other creations.

The scale of their operation now threatens how many stock, original 964's will be left on the market since they were so unloved for 20 plus years. Many 964's and their magnificent 3.6 twin plus motors are gone or have been turned into track cars that have experienced severe use and have damaged chassis or motors that were toasted.

Fortunately, mine was loved and garaged for its entire life - outside of its 96,000 miles on the roads of America...

The bottom line for me is that the 964 platform offers the best of all world in the 911. Modern 911 features in the classic body...

Not feeling the proportions, looks like a caricature of a 935. They should have made it a slant nose.

As a current singer owner, I was presented this car quite a while ago...it's wild for sure but the price is freaking ridiculous IMHO.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Singer. As many of you know I own a lot of Porsches...for me, the CGT and Singer are the tops of the heap and most often of all my cars the one that gets driven is the Singer. The R for work or local drives...but the Singer is very very special.

That said, I'd definitely add a first gen DLS if I could find one....but not one of these new ones.
