Default Replacing tinware

Searched on here and Pelican, but I'm buggered if I can find a guide. When I was replacing my cylinder head temperature sensor I noticed that some of the tinware was helluva croosty. Replacing it with fresh from Porsche was getting into 2,5k€ and while it'd see me out, just no. So I bought a full set of the carbon fibre stuff from DP Motorsport for a third of that. Now that the weather's nice I'd quite like to get to fitting it, so any tips?

I refinished mine a couple years ago. Really easy to take it all apart - but I found putting it back together was interesting - possibly due to me doing it months later.
That said, I didn't drop my engine and didn't change out the crusty front tin - which I'd really like to do once it is time for a clutch swap!

I have the fiberglass tin from DP Motorsports. Do they also make carbon fiber? The fiberglass was a nice fit, but there were a few holes that needed to drilled out. Keep the old tin for a template. You can see some of the installation in my Chronicle on Wilbur

The rubber grommets can be a little nerve-racking to install. I found a little Griot’s Speedshine made the process much smoother.

Yeah, the fibreglass was a hundred or so Euro cheaper but I figured the carbon fibre was a touch cooler and subtler. I'm guessing that stuff you mention is just silicon spray?

Very nice. If you have a chance, please post some photos. Silicon spray should also do the trick, yes. Anything with some lubricity will do nicely, and reduce the Rick of an accident.
