Good evening, and please excuse an intrusion from someone who spends time in another Rennlist forum sub-category.
Forgive my ignorance...
Would anyone care to enlighten me as to what this little **** is? It's the one that's at the bottom and in between the two normal dial switches? I'm familiar with the rear spoiler and drive wheel *****, but don't recall the other one...
What happens when you turn it? Does it click into an "on" position? Lights? Sound? Any strange wires around the windshield or A pillars? Maybe a sensor in the front grill slats?
Looking more closely, there are a bunch of little aftermarket do-dads on that car. In the pic you attached, above, those two round hole-punch looking things in the top of the black plastic shouldn't be there, for example (indicator lights for a radar detector?). In other shots, there's a white diode (button?) sticking out of the dashboard to the left of the key. Maybe this goes along with the remote lock/unlock system shown on the key fob. There's also some weird Frankenstein's monster-looking neck bolt sticking out of the left wall of the driver's side footwell.
Looks like volume control **** for remote radar detector as stated. Interesting auction. That car has been driven to hell and back. I suspect a money shift at one time. Obviously no startup video with cylinders #1&3 needing a rebuild. Most likely bent valves and the entire car needing paintwork if cosmetics are important. It also looks like more paintwork than the seller believes. The car is at strong money already considering the amount of work needed but they only made 470 93 coupes both C2/C4 and no C4 NB coupes in 94 so it is the last of the C4's.
This will say a lot about where the market is heading.
I love the "we purchased this from an elderly owner in New Mexico." Apparently people still believe that there is such a thing as 1 owner, granny driven sports cars lol!
The even more hilarious part is - the car is 30 years old - so even if someone is elderly NOW, they sure as hell weren't when the car was new so...
I'm personally not a giant fan of Singer but it feels like if they're going to take any cars, I'd rather they take this one with lots of paintwork and a need for an engine rebuild than a good survivor like they have so many times before to do it. It's a bummer cause it's a late model obv but at least it's an imperfect one.

Agreed on your assessment. This would be perfect for me and I have been watching this auction but the price of admission is unfortunately too high for what I want to do with it.
