I’ve been vacationing in France for 5 weeks and as is typical in France you don’t see a lot of nice / high end cars. I’ve only seen a handful of Porsches and only one 964 which drove past me the opposite direction. I think it’s safe to say this is one of the nicest around. I was a few hours away from your car last week. Next time I’ll be sure to be closer and come and see it (or if it needs a surrogate driver to gets some use I’ll gladly oblige. Haha )

Félicitation! Elle est très belle!

edit: are these projects really ever finished ???!!!

i've never seen anyone use quickjacks in that manner before. i wonder if it's because they're a longer version and they don't fit within the wheelbase. interesting...

Next problem.... I have an error code #24 in the Motronic "oxygen sensor". The 02 sensor ws changed in the engine re-build. When I clear the code it re-appears right away like if the 02 sensor could not be reached. It seems connected correctly. The engine seems to be running rich as well so maybe the sensor is not used at all..... It looks like also during the engine re-map they used their own O2 sensor and I am trying to confirm that they actually checked with the one in the car as well (would be dumb not to!).

Anyway, any ideas of what could be another origin for that issue ? Maybe the Motronic to O2 sensor connection ?

Thanks!

I have used my QuickJack BL5000SLX both ways, so it will fit between the wheels but its tight and you have to be careful. It would be nice to here LionelB's take on why he uses his QuickJack that way.

agreed. if i place the front of the QJ too close to the front tire, it will make contact with the lift on the way up. learned that pretty quickly.

This was a bad O2 sensor.... That was brand new but somehow was not an original Bosch one. So I have been running full rich for 2500km.... This explains the 16L/100 and the smell. I hope this has not screwed anything up.

I still had some lingering issues at low RPM, it was difficult to debug but was finally traced down to the AFM connector that had some borderline connections. I think it may have affected the way the engine performs everywhere but was quite annoying at low RPM and would sometimes sputter in town etc.... Now that this is solved it's a real joy to drive.

I still have some small things to attend to. The front wheels still touch the chassis at full lock. I may raise the car by 1cm to make ait a no brainer with all the speed bumps around here. I may also soften a bit the suspension, it's pretty stiff now. The KW V3 are setup in the middle everywhere. The alignement is RS alignment and I may go closer to a C2 alignement as this is purely a road car.

I have a very annoying "bip" that happens only when the radio is on (with CarPlay or not) apparently thru the speakers. It happens randomly but pretty often and maybe over bumps more. No idea where this is coming from, I think it coincided with when we changed the part around the steering wheel with the various stocks.

Happy camper overall even though I want it "perfect"

it looks amazing. Small detail but I love the black/grey license plate. What's the story behind that ? That is not a common French license plate that usually has the department #, Euro stars, "F" for France etc. Is this for classic cars?

You can only put such license plate in France on cars that have a "collection license", they need to be at least 30 years old. Once you obtain that it is legal to put an older looking license plate like this. It comes with some other advantages as well.

We are down to some details. Still need to figure out the 18inch wheels rubbing. I am not sure of steering spacers are in the steering rack (6 or 10mm).
