@barry_bosco kudos for posting here. Let us know once you've got the car and what you have planned for it

The only way to get a widebody these days is pay up for one or build one out of a narrow body. If you find you have questions with no answers you will find this is a very helpful community.

I have no issues with repaired cars so long as they are repaired properly, documented and disclosed. Assuming the tub is straight the rest is cosmetic or not a worry from a driving standpoint. Nearly everything can be repaired. You do have a rare WB C4 to start with. Hope it lives up to your expectations. Drive it in good health.

Agreed. This community already helped you purchase this car at a very low price once the questions came out. Now you will need to get this car tip top and it will be fun.

Yes, OP, use this forum as there is so much information here. You have a very rare car, only a handful or less in each state (on average).

Default Update

Well,,, I thought I’d post an update here after almost a year of sorting.

for sure it’s been a bit of a problem child. But not really the body concerns that were voiced. We’ve looked pretty hard at the body and it’s straight . Haven’t gone so far as to tear it apart to see if there’s something under the paint and we haven’t made a determination one way or the other as to original paint. We think it’s original. Probably will really dig into that in the near future.

the car is plagued with electrical issues, which we have methodically resolved. Ultimately we needed to replace some components of the abs system (somewhat common) and some wiring that had just aged poorly in really hard to find spots, including some spots that were incorrectly crimped when it left the factory, it’s probably been a little squirrelly it’s whole life. Along w window switches , and other random stuff.

we had to do a clutch and rms as well. I will actually see it for the first time in 8 months this weekend. Working to bring it back to graat condition and enjoy it a little. Hopefully in the best condition it’s ever been in.

Default Update for anyone still paying attention😂

I finally have the car home. I’ll post a couple of pics. In some ways it wasn’t t as terrible as it could have been. It’s basically an ok car. The issues it had have taken quite a while to sort through. So,no it wasn’t an amazing deal. But hopefully it’s on its way to becoming an amazing car.

the electronics of the awd system basically had to be sourced and almost completely replaced. But as anyone with gremlin type issues knows, that wasn’t an all at once process. It took numerous iterations because there were multiple problems.

but as of now, it’s almost entirely new and functions as it should.

other updates, the suspension was shot. So all new coils and dampeners on all the corners

the paint isn’t great.

The car is going to get a repaint after I get to drive it a bit.

the seats need reupholstered, other than that the interior is in really good condition

someone put a goofy stereo in it, I’m replacing that myself with the Porsche classic one, shortly.

we had to fix a hood latch and also a new clutch and rms.

ill post a couple of pics.
