Question ABS pump BUZZ at engine start up

How long should the ABS pump buzz when I start my 94 C4. At times it seems to do it longer than others.

can anyone comment on if thier ABS pump buzz when you come to a stop? When i say "Buzz" I mean activate and pump.. not the pulsing action of the braking system....

Thanks..

Dear Victor,
First thing, this is NOT the ABS pump it is the Brake boost Hydraulic pump. The ABS pump is something else.
The time it will run depends on the amount of retained pressure in the hydraulic accumulator. First start of the day the pump will remain on for around 60 seconds. This time will reduce dramatically depending upon time to next start.
Yes the pump will start up after you use the brakes. This is all normal.
Full details of this system are contained in my book.
Ciao,
Adrian

Adrian,

Thank You for the prompt reply and clarification. I have your book but have not sat down to read it fully I must say I do think it is a great resource..

I posted another question on brake caliper removal.. do you have a comment on that?

Thanks again

Victor
