Red face I need a new Tiptronic control unit

Hi,

I managed to burn out my Tiptronic control unit.
(The story involves Goldfish!)

I have a 1990 (H reg) LH C2 Tiptronic. Does anyone have a secondhand unit or know where I might find one. Failing that a new one. Driving around in 3rd gear is not much fun.

If anyone can help i'll post the story.

Thanks,

G64MAT

I ordered a few parts from Sunset Porsche in Oregon this morning and I asked them the $ for a new tip module. Pre-92 goes for $1229 , and After-92 goes for $1001. Ouch.

Now tell us a goldfish story.

later, mojo

You could also try some of the UK breakers e.g.
www.porsch-apart.co.uk
www.douglasvalley.co.uk
www.pro-9.co.uk

Hi

I believe that the Systems Consulting Company may be of assistance here. I believe that they have a dealer network and offer rebuilds/exchanges etc on these types of parts. www.systemsc.com I do not have any idea about pricing. I know that someone affiliated with the company posts here occasionally.

Hope this helps.

G64MAT - nothing much to add here...I'm sure Simon at Porsch Apart (www.porsch-apart.co.uk) or the others mentioned wil be able to help...

...so my main reason for posting was to hear the story of how the unit cam to be involved with the goldfish! Please spill the beans!

Guess: "Goldfish" ...code for Koi...he dumped it in a pond, which subsequently burned out the unit.

Any other guesses before G964MAT succumbs to our "prodding" for the story??
