CAT light on !!
Hi All,
I'm hoping you can help. My car's ('91 C2 Tip Japanese RHD) CAT light is on in the clock. I believe this is due to the Cat temprature sensor which goes into the top of the Catalytic converter. The thread has rusted and I found the sensor dangling from it's cable after a service, since then the light has come on intermitently I have secured the sensor into the CAT with exhuast repair solution (Gun-Gum) but the light remains on.
Someone suggested I "jumper" or "close" the circuit to by-pass the sensor because apparently it is not neccessary in the UK as only US and Japanese 964's had this 2nd sensor. Can anyone advise me how to do this?
Secondly, with this light on does it effect performance in any way? i.e. higher fuel consumption, less performance (I must say I have not noticed any performance loss).
Thanks for any assistance
Regards
