Rear bumper removal
I am in the process of removing the rear bumper and have a little problem. I can't find any way to disconnect the wire harness to the bumper. On the bumper side it goes behind a riveted panel and on the body side it goes behind the right rear light. Any body have any suggestions short of cutting the wires. Thanks in advance.

I can't answer your question - but maybe you can answer one for me. I need to take the right hand part of my rear bumper off - it looks like if I remove the rear wheel I'll be able to get to some bolts from the wheel arch. Is this all that holds it on? And will I be able to get it off without touching the main bumper section?

Look inside the engine compartment on the right side towards the rear of the car (up and to the right of the engine mount). Look for the wire harness coming through the body from the bumper. You will find a simple connector. Disconnect and push the harness and the rubber plugs through the body. The harness stays with the bumper....
Good luck.
Good luck.

I tried to find a connector in my harness but I couldn't so I removed the right rear light and the connector was located there. It is secured to the body. Once the light was out it was a simple unclipping and the harness was off. I hope this helps anyone else who needs to remove their rear bumper.
