Default RSA on BAT

No affiliation ... looks like a nice '93 RSA, early-ish production (option code 718) with LSD being the only option.

Yes I inquired about it when it was on their site and they were waiting for the bat auction.

Appears to be a nice example!

This belonged to a rennlist member years ago. It had a motorized wing installed at the time. The lid has a 94 Vin sticker on it and I suspect was added recently. This is a 92 M718 coded to 93 so no way it should have the vin sticker and it has the wrong lid mounting brackets. The big reds and front calipers moved to the rear and the obvious filled in holes from harness mounting bolts along with a lot of other little things tells me this car was completely gutted or at least lower dash and other bits removed for track driving. I suspect a cage was added at some time as well. This is clear to my eye as the gap between the lower dash and other bits aren't set correctly. Like the vinyl peeling back behind the doors. I would suspect paintwork irrespective of meter readings. I can show my car as being factory with a meter but it has been repainted to the highest standards.

It was a very nice car and should make a nice driver for the right price.

Someone dropped a bomb on that auction

Anthony called it first.. I could also see the tell take signs of misaligned rear panels. Then the obvious holes in the floor that the seller is still denying even though the previous Porsche inspection stated a cage was previously installed and cut out. Clearly not honest

kudos to the PO and Anthony for keeping it real, there are too many cars lately claiming to be something they are clearly not.

I am curious to hear others thoughts on how many RSA’s were likely tracked?

I have one and it was tracked… wow it feels so good to get that off my chest

Seriously though Porsche sold it to be enjoyed, possibly tracked. It seems though that the recent GT cars are more garage queens, C&C, investments rather than tracked as intended. It’s the kiss of death for a 991 auction if someone smells track time.

Is it the case that it’s no longer cool to admit that your 964 has seen some track time?

It doesn’t bother me if a car was tracked. It’s a bigger issue if it was damaged or race prepped and then reversed/repaired and passed off as a garage queen.
I think you’ll find a great many RS, RSA, etc were at some point on a track… mine were….

Yes, since the PO shared the inspection from 2017 IIRC, the bidding has literally stopped at 75k. It will be interesting to see as the bidding closes if any additional offers come about.

THere was a stall. The car has obviously gone through a period of neglect and perhaps some tracking - but it does sound like most of the items had already been addressed and the outstanding questions are being answered by the seller. I think it will get some traction - but maybe not the specimen I thought it was for a moment. Still would love a no sunroof car.. II think that's a big draw.

Went to $179k. Pretty good for a car that obviously went downhill to some degree and then was brought back.

As an RSA owner I am happy with the outcome but surprised. Looks like it had plenty of interest in the 140s and then a two horse race to the finish.

So track time/prior mods are not a strong detractor as long as the car has been maintained (and not crashed), likely that track cars are better maintained at least mechanically. I feel that the 30k miles had a strong bearing on the recovery of this one, both in terms of refresh by the PO and financially during the sale

I wish the new owner many miles of fun, congrats

agree 100% - non sunroof is also very desirable.

it’s interesting that these are up so much around the same time that you can start importing euro RS.
