Default Third times a cab wtl “ red dune “

Some may remember me from 10+ years ago when i had a 964 Turbo 3.6 and C2 Targa . Then followed a journey through the water-cooled world taking in 996 Turbo S 996 GT3 987 Boxster Spyder and 981 Boxster S. I always thought i would have a 964 again and by 7 years it had become a powerful itch and i started looking out for a good coupe / 3.3 turbos already hard to buy. Having had great condition cars previously i was disappointed on viewing cars for sale ( many hidden stories ) UK climate and periods when these coupes were daily drivers meant most cars are more like restoration projects. I considered restored/modified examples but a lot of the joy in that is doing it for yourself. I love some of the build threads here but for me It was better to put a lot of effort into finding a great original example for road use. Maybe its my age but cabs and tips started to appeal and came close to a couple of nice ones but with the chance of an excellent wtl my classic Porsche boat was floated at last. It was bought new in Hong Kong by Porsche enthusiast Mr Wong and when he emigrated to London in 2005 he brought it with him and kept there for another 12 years. It still has original paintwork, has had regular servicing and most importantly has been well stored. Unfortunately the HK service book was lost. Guards Red / Black leather works fine for me. A pre purchase inspection by a good independent revealed some age/lack of use issues but nothing serious. Some things i will enjoy tidying, other jobs i required from the owner included new tires ( michelin ) shocks and leaking cam cover / overdue its first valve adjustment ! All sorted now and ready to go and arrived yesterday in a covered trailer. Early Xmas . I intend to drive it whenever , trying to preserve originality but not worry about it. I live in the country with many quiet moorland roads all round. After getting to know her i will see about any reversible mods. Its a wonderful feeling to time travel back to the nineties with a nearly new 964.

“ Red Dune “ was a nickname from a Christophorous 3/92 road test of this 964 variant.

I have a tip cab too. I do have to manually shift it so it doesn’t work its way to 4th at 30 mph.

Thanks Bert , you are right i had a Horizon Blue turbo that came from the Sultan Brunei collection. It had the X88 power upgrade package plus some other minor mods taking it over 400hp. Great car , too fast for the street and too precious for the track !
