Default 964 books

what are the best books for new 964 owners to start with?

Assuming Adrian Streather Enthusiasts Companion is a good start (although I read somewhere on RL of some inaccuracies?) is there a site or thread with any corrections ?

What about ‘Porsche 964 The Modern Classic”?

what other books would you recommend ?

thanks!

Adrian Streathers book is the back bone of any 964 ownership, but I’d also like to shine the light one Andreas Gabriel’s books from BMB Berlin Motor Books. He has made many great books on differensiere Porsche lineages, of which the “Porsche 964 30 years 1988-2018” I’d recommend getting to give an overview of the legacy that’s gone into the 964 from it’s ancestors and up to modern times.

Of course “Porsche 964 THE BOOK 1989-1994” is the jewel in my collection, limited no.1990 to match my 1990 Carrera 4. So much I haven’t taken the plastic off it yet, years after acquiring it. The same goes for my limited copy no.723 of “turbo Hans Mezger edition 2020”.

The run of the mill “Porsche 911 air-cooled years 1974-1989” is my beater book in which I can siphon through all the air-cooled greats up until the 930, and the unveiling of the 964.

Depends if you want to look at your car or fix your car.

If you want to fix your car, you need a set of porsche shop manuals. Can be had on pdf. I prefer print.

For everything else, you search on Rennlist, where there is a ton of Mia information and terrible advice....mixed in with everything you would ever need to know. But you figure out pretty quickly which is which.

Enjoy the car!

I was rather disappointed in the Porsche 964 book 1989-1994. I should have picked up the air-cooled years but my favorite of theirs is the Porsche 911 turbo the air-cooled years Limited edition. I wish the others included the details that that book does.

Has anyone here purchased The Modern Classic, mentioned in the first post?

Curious how is the '964 30 Year' book above or the "Porsche 964 – THE BOOK 1989–1994" is different from this 964 book I have by the same publisher? Signed vs unsigned?
