Hi All, I drive OEM coilovers on H&R struts. The drive is not ideal, I am about to do a small upgrade by replacing coilovers. As I don't do track days, it was recommended to me to go with KW V1. Would you please share your experience, thoughts and suggestions.

Have the V1 in the Mini Cooper S of my girlfriend, the V3 in my 964 convertible and the KW Comp in my 964 Track Car... The V1 ist good, but at the stiffer side. I would go for a V3 and set it 2 clicks more open (every possible adjustment) like the base setup is. This is the way, i drive my convertible and this is brilliant for a daily and cruising car... Far away from a standard lowered 90th tuning car :-)

I actually have the opposite experience. I have a 964 C2 on V1 and thought it was too soft. I had KW send me a set of stiffer springs for the V1's to minimize rub in corners. The OEM springs are 170lb front and 330lb rear on V1 dampers which was too soft for my street driving.

I've been really please with my V1's. Been running them for about 4 years now and find them to be a great balance between compliant enough to not jar you but stiff enough to perform very well in the mountains and on the track. The factory set rebound/compression is spot on for me. Set and forget.

I have V1s on my cab and while I like them, I agree with Thilo about being a bit on the stiffer side. While still happy with the V1 performance, I’d probably choose V3s if I were to do it again.

I put V1s on my Targa to replace the original Boge setup. I have no other point of comparison but have been very happy with them for East coast fast road driving. Feels firm and controlled, but not stiff IMO. Potholes are still an issue, but much less so than the prior (very old) suspension.
I used a set of ten cent bronze reducer bushings from Amazon to take care of the mounting bolt size difference. Install was easy. I set the height and used a shop to corner balance and align.
