Default Window switch replacement?

When replacing a switch do you need to pull the door card or just pop the switch out and swap?

You can pop the switch out, very easy.

If you don't already have a new switch the old one can be "rebuilt" pretty easily. If you open the old switch you'll find a pair of contacts - one for up - one for down. The contacts are the same and have 2 sides each. If you reverse the contacts you'll have a fresh contact on each side and the switch will work again (unless the switch is otherwise broken).
