I recently had the transmission oil changed, using Motul 300. Two days later at a track event I experienced problems shifting into third. There had been some grinding at previous events, but nothing as bad as this. I'm pretty confident there is something wrong with the transmission, but I was wondering if the oil may have exacerbated the existing problems, and whether it's a good choice for the next fluid change, probably when I have the transmission fixed in the not too distant future

If the Motul oil has the same specifications as fr wexample a Mobil gearbox oil, then it can not be a problem and is your problem a coincidence.

I've been running Motul motor & transmission oil for 6 months now and have had no problems.

Ok, thx. I didn't think it was an issue, but wanted to have additional confidence that it wasn't more than a coincidence.

You may want to look at your motor mounts to see if they need to be replaced. Bad mounts could cause problems shifting. Mine made the second to third shift a problem.
