😂I really considered dropping the engine and trans to do this job then some guy said he did it in an hour 🙄 So I went back at it and finally got it done

Job done! I replaced the missing nut from over the top by feel, then with 1/4” ratchet. I slipped the new belt down from the top then first got it around the lower pulley from below. After this I returned to the top to get the belt over the right hand portion of the upper pulley. I rotated the engine by hand and slowly guided the belt right around the upper pulley. For the moment I’ve reattached the plastic cover (repaired with JB Weld) whilst I wait for the new one to arrive. I have a G pipe so I had pretty reasonable access from below to replace the aluminium cover plate and exhaust support bracket. I didn’t remove any engine tin. Fiddly but not too difficult with the engine in.

I think the fact I was removing and rebuilding the pump probably had more to do with how I approached it than replacing the belt. OP Good job!
