I’m going to pull it off the shelf and give it another go. It’s much better looking than the dull black one that’s there now! Thanks for the tips.

When properly installed the lip of the tube will be completely inside the rubber from the boot.

I also had trouble fitting the rubber from the fan shroud around the CF tube. No problem with stock heater fan tube. Must be a slight difference in geometry as the top of the CF tube also just grazes the rear deck lid when I close the lid. The bypass procedure worked good though and still have plenty of heat .

You can add the 993 turbo bottom rubber sleeve for an easier install

That RS logo on the tube makes me think of the "unpimp my ride" VW ads. Cheesy at best.
