Default Purchasing 964 overseas

I’ve been in contact with a dealer in Germany on a 964 C2 targa. Has anyone bought a car overseas? How was your experience? Any advice or instruction on how to streamline the process?

I purchased two cars from Germany and i used a third party to handle the entire process. The person i used handles the entire process from sourcing, PPI, transport to port, shipping, and import paperwork, fees, and taxes. Since you already found a car you can ask the dealer for recommendations on who can assist you with paperwork. I would also google search as there are a few companies who specialize on importing cars into the US. If I can find the name of the one company I will share but I believe they were profiled in the past year in the BMWCCA magazine, Roundel maybe?

Hello! Just seeing you have experience importing from Europe. I've brought in a Carrera S from Canada, which was not hard. Any references with name of company that helps coordinate? I have a few leads, people who have actually done it, tracking down specifics now but apparently they shipped it to Florida first, went through imports there, registered there (something like that) and then brought it west to CA. Appreciate the help in advance - Dave
