I had some guy approach my gf outside and practically wouldn't take no for an answer, put lots of pressure on her trying to get my cell no. to buy the car. Said he pulled up so fast to catch her that his truck was blocking half the roadway.

To the OP, horrible situation BUT that's a pretty good snapshot of the thief. Someone will recognize him if you're vigilant. Post it everywhere you can including craigslist and other highly visible websites people search for these cars. I think you'll get the car back.

I have agreed upon insurance, but it won't get me a 964 sadly, especially one with this low mileage!

Agreed.

Feel real bad about your loss.

Like yours my 964 has quite low miles with 50,000 km or about 30,000 miles.

Similar to many on here the Porsche 911 was my dream car when I was a kid. I even worked as a lot boy in grade 11 and 12 at a Porsche dealer.

Learned to drive stick with the dealers parts car which was a Porsche 924. Spent many days washing 911s and driving them between the back lot and the front lot.

I have been super paranoid about driving my 964 around and now only go on morning or late evening drives without parking anywhere.

The car spends 99% of the time in the garage with alarm and hungry dog near by.

Really is no way to enjoy the car.

My wife asked me a few years ago to consider selling the car and getting something that I can fully enjoy.

So I followed 50% of her advice and got a second summer car an old 2009 SL63 with the big block V8.

Of course there is!
Sure they're worth a ton now, but if you can't take it to lunch and park outside a restaurant for a half hour, then why are you keeping it around in your garage? It could get stolen out of there too you know... Life's too short.

OP, I really hope you get the car back. These threads hurt so bad.

I worded it poorly.

I do get to go out and drive what I meant is when I first got my 964 it was the evil red headed step child that was not loved. So I drove it everywhere without worry and parked it without thinking anyone would bother to steal it as it was so undesirable.

Now that it is in demand I hate that I have to think about the fact it is desirable and worth stealing.

Back in 2005 when I first bought my 964 I could probably leave it running and no one would want to drive off with it cause it was considered such a POS compared to the 993.

Sure it has increased in value but that does not really mean much to me cause I did not buy the car as an investment.

Not to mention the profile and physical description match the person in the video perfectly.

I pray for a very slow and painful death for the thief. Has the car been recovered?
