Default 964 Top - manual operation question

After reading some posts I was interested in trying the top without the electric operation. So far, I like it. 2 problems:

When the top is down, the warning light on the dash is on. Due to the alignment of the trans arms now, I attached a strip of metal to the arm that actuates the micro switches for top position, so I don't think thats the problem

When latching the top in up position, the motors that raise the top run, not the motors that lock the top latches in place.

I plan to look at the microswitches in the top since there are 2 first. Any guesses?

Thanks,

The top microswitch, at the motors that raise the top, has to be activated. Then the motors should run to lock the top. Once the top is shut, the microswitches in the cabrio top are tripped which cuts off the motors, and shuts off the light on the dash.

So, I'd make sure that uppermost microswitch is properly activated to start the latch motors. Hope that helps.
