Default Help! Manual aero mirror assembly.

Hi all,

Ran into a roadblock assembling my manual aero mirrors and, while I found a lot of helpful tips about the spring compression, I didn’t find anything on the below.

Am I simply supposed to thread these long screws into the backing plate? The backing plate is not threaded, and I’ve already broken one off trying to gently thread it through.

Also, are the spacers in the correct orientation?

Thanks.

part #10 is listed as a oval-head screw M3x30 and looks like a self tapping screw in the picture. Unfortunately the parts diagram describes some fasteners as "screws" when I would call them bolts. #4 is called a reinforcement plate. In any case I would tap those holes with the correct thread. The spacers look as per the picture. I can't recall what was used as "screws" when I had my mirrors apart some 17 years ago, damn I'm old.

Thanks for the reply. For any future searchers: I ended up tapping each hole with an M3x0.5 tap and assembled everything as pictured. Seems like it’ll work!
