Yesterday, i booked the first event at the NOS for 2022. The DSK event at the 28.04... The day before, i have a slot at Manthey for having my car at the rig to get the new KW Comp properly adjusted :-)
Hi guys, this is my first post in this forum.
Just like you I enjoy the 964´s and like to introduce my 964 in 993 disguise. I know its not pretty but as a wise trackday friend pointed out, the opportunity to invest in getting it back to its 964 shape will suddenly present itself. Until then I am advised to just enjoy it the way it looks :-)
It's an -89 C4 converted to C2 race/trackday machine many years ago. Full welded gage and 1.138 kg with 60% fuel. Had the drivetrain updated 2020 to a 3.8 engine with 993 6-speed gearbox.
One of the absolute best classic 911´s a have ever owned. A true drivers car with no ABS. It loves the Nürburgring and luckily finds its way around all by itself. You just have to hold on for the ride :-)
Thanks for sharing. I have a similarly setup 964. There are several 964 race cars fitted with 993 bodies during the 90s race period . When I was in POC (Porsche Owners Club) in mid-90s, I recall increased demand in race cars and PMNA couldn’t supply fast enough. So privateers retrofitted 993 bodies in 964s. Some raced in 24 hr Daytona, 12 hr Sebring, ALMS races, etc. I realize you're in Europe, but I wonder what race history yours have. Any insight?
Mine is a 92 fitted with 993 GT Racing body. 2250 lbs. Engine is still 964 block, but now 3.8 RSR with Motec/ITBs by Rothsport; tranny is also 993 close-ratio 6 speed. Again, similar to yours so I was delighted to see your post.
I sense that you have considered returning body back to a 964. I contemplate the same thing. But looking at old race logbooks, I pause and tend to simply enjoy as-is its history in current body configuration. I’m further researching my car’s 90s race history. But it was found in early 00s already a 993-body race car. It was recommissioned and raced successfully in SCCA/PCA/PRC/Rennsport Reunion.

Now that´s a great looking 964 👍 Do you have any on-board videos from NOS? We should try to meet up during the season. I will be there 18-20 April with Circuit Days and then do the Scuderia Hanseat 1 May. There will also be other events and Touristenfahrt that I will do during the season. Perhaps yuo like to join us for the www.964tribehangout.com in 21-23rd May. There are some 12-15 German 964´s going in a caravan from Hamburg on the 20th May for the event 👍
