Hi All,

I have a, new to me,1990 964 C4 Cab and there is a bracket under the engine lid and I'm wondering if it has a purpose, is it original and can I just remove it?

Looks to me as a former device to mount an aftermarket alarm horn.
Both arms looks folder towards each other.

Very unusual. Bin it. Appears that the arms were bent over, as BR mentions, then the holes lined up to bolt something to. No sign of previous cabling either (normally I found auto electricians just cut and leave rather than trace and remove).
