My mind has been wandering to other endeavors so I'm tempted to put a list together for my tip coupe but I think I'd regret not building it at some point....and looking at the car by itself, it would be hard to connect the dots on the cost of what I have purchased in parts at this point. At least this car is a cobalt car! (well, kinda!)

On the other hand, if you're dying for something to work on, I'll ship it right up!

My vote is become an NJ-based Akira Nakai and take on my car as a first project. There's way too much institutional knowledge in your head for it to go to idle.

LOL. Don't give up. These projects are a bit daunting but when finished you will be happy with it. Especially with matching cobalt panels.

Pino already painted a RWB 964 look on a 89 G-body car. His parts are the best I have seen but the look is just not one of my favorites. Watching him cut panels Pino did such a perfect job painting after the fact made me a little sick. Akira is talented just not my scene.

Cute Frank Yes we do and we are working on it. The collector pipes are almost finished then on to making the rest of the headers I can nearly taste the finished product. LOL But I'm looking for something to keep me busy when track season is over and I am still locked inside this winter.

I understand the allure to the long hood but I owned them and appreciate them but I prefer the 964 looking like a 964. IMO the widebody long hood is one of the sexiest Porsche's made. Although if I were to build one I would need to retain a 16" wheel max as IMO they look best with the deep dish 15's which just won't work with the stock 964 brakes. I like 18's to drive on so I do prefer the 3.8RSR look myself so I can run the bigger brakes and 18's. If I were to backdate a car it would be a G body as I am not a fan of the bellows bumpers and it would be a far easier backdate.

So how about this - get the project 964, each time you start working through a different part of it this winter you post a notice for a Zoom session. Everyone with a 964 that needs attention to that area of the car can tune in and follow along to see how it's done. You share the institutional knowledge, you get an audience and students and camaraderie during the project and everyone gets better cars. If only you could figure out a way to get a piece of the action that all the local shops will get when we observe your skills and realize we have not the skill set or tools to ACTUALLY do what you do and end up calling our local mechanics

C4 ABS brain could be a problem although I have 3 C2 brains C4's are hard to source and most are damaged beyond repair.
you can do an adapter and use the C2 brain in your C4... everything will work, except the diff-locks...

Is there a readily available adapter? I am rewiring the car so the C2 ABS brain will work. There is a difference in the wiring and connector for the 2.

I do have nearly all the parts to do another 3.8 RS tribue. I am only missing factory rockers and front fenders. Otherwise I have everything else thanks to some wonderful rennlisters and Pino. He has the rear quarters from a 964 turbo for me. Just want to find a more reasonable priced donor. It would cost me less to convert a cab to a coupe than fix this one at their asking. Although I picked this up yesterday for my son and will need him to sell his car to pay me back but couldn't pass on it with only 5k miles and optioned with nearly every option he would want

Jpoint,

I am not very fond of zoom. I have too many zoom meetings as it is. LOL I'll just keep posting.
