Default Tie rod end removal

Hi all,

I have finally got around to re sealing my steering rack but have run into an issue.

i can’t seem to get the tie rod ends out of the joint due to the bottom of the strut being in the way. A PO had installed bilstien suspension which looks to be causing the issue.

photo attached.

any ideas?

Thanks SR20, I was trying to avoid that First time pulling apart my steering/suspension. Well, here goes nothing.

I managed to get mine off by turning the steering full lock. This was with kw3 so the clearance may have been different.

I simply compressed the suspension a little with another jack and it allowed enough clearance for the tie rod to clear the strut....

+1. I had to turn the steering a certain way, tight clearance but I was able to wiggle them out. This was also with KWs but worth a try before you unbolt the strut.
