Talking Spring is in the air! Wheel change required.

Snow is gone, temp is going up, so I decided to change the weels today.

Winter wheels [D '90's with Vredestein Snowtrac] off and the 17"Cup wheel on.

Cool Wheel change

Better for your back, easier working with the lift.

Default Wheel change

Polished the wheels good, and so brake dust will go off very easy with washing.

Arjan, your car on that lift looks like something out of Thunderbirds!

Or is it the Mechanical Fish from Stingray?

John, you can read minds...... Off course I wanted to show the lift, you know me........... Missed the 'lift topic'a few weeks ago did'nt you??

Back to the real world, we get a 16 degr. celcius this week, so the winter tires will be wear more in warm weather, so..... Good reason to show my lift John

Looks like you have a compressed-air wrench for the wheel nuts, too!

Yes John, all the thing you need for a workshop, this includes a compressor and air tools too.

Just drove to work this morning, and I have to say, the cup wheels need more power to steer the car then the winter tires. D '90's with winter tires drive more comfortable, but in situations where power is asked, they are too soft for the car. I drive Bridgestone S02 tires now, and man..... what a lot of sound on the road [humming] compared to the winter tires. The car was completely quiet with those wheels before....

Arjan,

What size snow tires are you using on the Design 90 wheels?

I am going to run snow tires on my Design 90's next year, but since I have some nearly new 205/55 snow tires I have used on another car, I was wondering if they would work. I know that in front they are fine, and the owners manual indicates it is possible to use these on the rear rims instead of 225/50's, but I am curious as to the impact on handling with the smaller size tires in the rear.
