No start after new DME relay
Previous owner had a Hella fog light relay used as a bridge behind the gauges to connect a Digital Race Monitor (shift light). He ran wires from the fog light relay slots in the fuse box to the relay behind in the dash and from the relay to power the DRM. I pulled all that out and put the relay back into its slot in the fuse box. Fog lights work perfectly. There was also a white female connector behind the gauges in the dash that got power from the same Hella relay and got ground from a grounded wire in the trunk. I disconnected that also but now there is nothing connected to it. It comes from the wiring bundle that feeds all the gauges but I cannot find the male that should connect to it.
The problem is that the car will not start now. It cranks fine but no fuel. I replaced the DME relay just in case and it still does not start. I tried bypassing the relay by connecting slots 3, 5, and 7 and the car starts and runs like a champ but the fuel pump stays on constantly. Once I disconnect the jumper and connect the relay, the car won't start.
I'm certain it has to do with loose female connector behind the dash. I know one of the receivers needs a ground but what goes into the other one?
Can anyone help me solve this mystery that I'm sure I created? Thanks.
