I had exactly the same problem but the complete opposite, I have an '89 964 and wanted to fit 993RS Bilsteins. Of course, due to the change in rear top mount design they didn't fit, so ordered Bilstein HDs instead, but they sent through parts for a later car (way too short). It took only a few days for the parts to go back to Bilstein and get replacements out.

You must be getting a super-cheap deal to make it worth importing units from the US, I paid 800 for all 4 units over here...

You know, Ian, since this outfit is a Rennlist Sponsor, perhaps John D. might be able to intervene on your behalf? I'm sure he has plenty on his plate and stepping on a sponsor's toe might be in bad form but I thought it was worth considering.

Porsche made the modification to the rear mount to improve storage for the Cabrilolet top and the change was carried forward to all models:

Ian,

I cant believe this is still going on. I saw the thread and remembered commenting on it what seemed like months ago.

If I had any hair I would be pulling it out by now!

Good luck with sorting it out.

update

i have paid ms road race for a full set of shocks and a strut brace .

as you all know , they dont seem to know much , as anyone can find info they need on this forum . and they sent me the wrong rears , then claimed they only made one set to cover all 964 models/years .

anyway , i had to pay import duty of £150 .00 to take delivery of my parcel from them .

it was then i first posted as the rears seemed wrong ( CHECK THE DATE !!! )

so i postedf the rears back , at my cost ................. about £80.00 .

to get my import duty back , i tried a little trick here ( mentioned in thread , as a loophole in import duty laws )

then ms still said they only sold one type of rear , so i said i will send the front set back , and expect a full refund .

this cost me again !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! about £80.00 again .

as it was costing me more and more to sort out ms's problem , and as it was allready fitted to my car .
i kept the strut brace ..

no refund , no reply , and it seems they are ignoring my emails .

THIS SUCKS !!!

i have sent an email to rennlist , as ms roadrace are a sponsor etc.
a copy is below .

as i am in england , and they are obviously in america , there isnt much else i can do apart from email them .

i can hardly nip rpound to see them in person .

this is the main reason you have not seen me on rennlist for a while .
fed up of rennlist .
fed up off rennlist sponsors !!
fed up of rip-off merchants

thanks for listening
ian

hi
i am in england , U.K .
i bought some suspension parts from one of your sponsors , ms road race .

they sent the wrong ones !!!

please see my thread on your 964 forum "bilstein help needed"

it has been on-going for months now , i still have not received a refund , and they are ignoring my emails .

first i sent the rears back for replacement , this was done at my cost .

then i found out to get the 150 pounds import duty i paid back to me , i would have to prove i have been refunded in full .

just to send the rears back cost about 80 pounds .

then i had to pay the same for the fronts !!!

as i have had to pay this ammount to send back the parts that ms roadrace sent out wrongly , i kept hold of the strut brace i also bought from them .
partly to cover my costs for shipping wrong parts back , and also as it was allready fitted to the car !!

could you please contact them on my behalf to see what is going on ?

i thought american customer service was the best in the world !! it seems not

thank you

I am sure John D would have looked into this. Which address did you send it to? admin@rennlist.com? Have you tried PM'ing?

I am sure you can get to the bottom of this.....hang in there.

they say they have a refund waiting for me , but dont know which of the 3 emails they have for me to send paypal too !!!
(pity they didnt use one of the 3 emails they make a point of listing , to ask me !! ) ( or , pity they didnt just check there paypal account to see where the ammount originally came from !! )

anyway ............................. they are offering a refund ...................... but only for the rears !!!!!!!!!!!!!

i think i'm being rather civilised considering the costs and dates involved !!!!!!

hi dave

good to talk again ,
as i explained in my email to emma in your sales department , i returned all
4 bilsteins , in 2 seperate parcels !!

300 is not enough

thanks for the reply , but please see my email to sales

thank you
ian

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
hi dave

if you have no luck with the second package , please let me know asap , as all emails sent and received are automatically stored in a seperate folder by aol .
i can check this folder and give you a copy of the email you sent me saying the parcel had arrrrrrived and you had to pick it up .

this may help you as it has the time and date on it .

if not , the parcel was tracked by both the couriers and uk customs .

as i had to let them know the goods where being returrned as there was a dispute with the 200+dollars import duty i originally paid !!

i need to show them proof of a full refund before they refund the duty paid on returned goods .

the full ammount should be pay-palled to the acccccount it originally came from . mark.bridge@talk21.com

note the original transaction was done over 2 days , with 2 seperate payments from me

thanks again
ian

hi dave

further info for you !!

you where paid the following .................................

mark bridge , paypal $ 624.00 11 feb
mark bridge , paypal $ 590.00 17 feb

mark bridge address , your parcel arrived 13 march , £152.00 import duty paid

1st parcel sent back to you ( £80.00) 23rd march

2nd parcel sent back to you (£80.00) 7th april

as this has been going on for so long , my couriors cannot track on there computor as they only keep data for 3 months . so they have to track in from what they call "the paper stores" . they will get me the info within 48 hours of who signed for the parcels , where , and when .

i have phoned customs department as they were also involved in these packages getting to you ( as i paid import duty and goods where being returned ) . i am still waiting for them to phone me back .

i will let you know more details as i get them .

many thanks
ian
