Crankshaft pulley screw
Hi guys
I've been renewing timing chain seals and had to remove the crankshaft pulley. Driven by a few slips with the old screw I ordered a new one from online dealer.
Picture of both screws below, newer at the bottom.
Length, coating and class are same but head on the new one incorporates a washer. I assume the new one is later type however i was wondering if the change is ok to do and when it was introduced. I looked at pics online and could see both types of screws.
Best regards

I can’t recall whether my new one came with a washer or not, but I definitely used a washer. I do recall being annoyed that the new bolt had an 18mm head which required a new deep impact socket purchase.
