Default Source for 964s

I actually have a somewhat reluctant, preliminary green light to maybe, perhaps if the moon and stars all are aligned properly, consider getting another 911 to replace my POS daily driver (1995 Volvo 850 with 125K miles).

With huge caveat that I must finally teach my wife to drive stick, which I'm having a really hard time even thinking about with my SC for obvious reasons....

I've been intrigued with the 964s lately, specifically a C4, power, luxury, 4 wheel drive, etc. Going to post at rennlist as well but anyone here point me in the direction of good quality 964s on the East coast (did the travel thing for my SC, can't really think about that route again)

Thanks.

Adam

Sorry posted this at Pelican as well so am posting here too as I have heard that the 964/993 board is much more active here.

Look at ajc.com - the Atlanta paper classified usually have several examples of low mileage garage queen 964s. The market is depressed, so prices are great. definitely look closer to home first, but if you find that special deal in the Atlanta area , I would be happy to send you a quick look report before you invest in a PPI.

My wife drives the 964 in a very competent and gentle manner, but she does not enjoy it. This is the best of all possible worlds because the car is available in a pinch, but I get no competition for driving time. Good luck getting your's as well trained!

Hi Adam,
When I was looking for mine I tried to pull out all the stops. Autotrader.com, cars.com, pelicanparts.com classifieds, rennlist.com classifieds, all the local newspapers' websites classified ads, anywhere I knew that people try to sell cars. That's where I'd start. As you look you'll find more and more leads on cars. The problem may eventually become the fact that you want them all!

Hi Adam, like the others I tried everything. I finally had good luck with a locator out of Massachusetts -- you can take a look at www.europeanlocators.com, a fellow with lots of PCA connections named Dave Maynard. Worked for me! J

If you're not in a hurry , you can always check out the Hershey PA swap meet. http://www.cpa-pca.org/swap/.
It is a huge event and it looks like you're pretty close.
