Default Springtime question

1991- ~58k miles--1000 miles since last oil change.
Chicago area. Getting ready for my first since changing all the fluids last spring.

My usual inclination on any vehicle is to change the oil every spring, no matter the mileage (especially the motorbikes due to moisture accumulation)--. but with only 1000 miles since the last full oil change...what is the reco? oil change or no?

I would change it, cheap insurance. Although waiting a couple of months wouldn’t hurt it.

Change it. As per other poster cheap insurance.

Oil degrades when it just sits around even if you don't put mileage on the car.

Found that out with a friend of mine who did not drive his 996 for over two years.

Had the same situation, and skipped a year. If you drive in the winter, and don't get the car up to full temperature, you should crack the the oil tank drain plug to let any moisture drain out.

It doesn't get out in the winter at all, but Chicago has wild weather changes, so moisture is an issue. Thanks for the info.

Assuming you have a fuel stabilizer in your gas tank. 6 months old gasoline with ethanol will have a lot moisture fall out. I always have to remember to bring tire pressure back to normal before going out for a first drive.
