Default Group Buy: Rennspeed?

Some weeks ago before Dove sold his car there were some people looking at various spoilers/splitters etc - is anyone still interested?

I want to buy a RUF style lip spoiler and clear lenses. The quote so far for shipping is USD95 to LHR which isn't too bad....

The reason for the bulk buy was not necessarily to buy the same items for a discount, but more a case of saving on freight to the UK. If you are in Sweden I am not sure if this will be of interest/benefit to you. Sorry for confusion, I couldn't find the other thread which would have made it easier to understand....

Here is a link to Rennspeed for your info.

Yes, I want in on this, too!

So Christer, I thought I read that the Rennspeed item is not the actual Ruf part. It's a replica, right? Do you know how their version differs from the genuine article or would you rather discuss offline? Why not go for the Ruf item?

In comparing the options, it seems the Ruf design IS the way to go for a street driven 911, especially one that's been lowered. The benefits also seem to be worthwhile, i.e. added high-speed stability. Are you still scheduled for a track day? You can tell us all about the feel at over 140 mph.

Christer, here's the old thread you wanted.

Just to repeat what Peter at Rennspeed told me at that time, the Ruf style spoiler he offers is in black and doesn't require much in the way of preparation to fit but would require more if you wanted to paint it.

I'm still thinking on the whole issue and I guess I'm more interested in the RS splitter-style. FVD offers it for $350 and Kevin (IIRC) told me that Rennlisters could get it from them for approx. $320. (I'll look up the exact info if anyone wants to know.)

I'd like to go with Rennspeed but while people could vouch for Peter, in the thread I linked above I couldn't find anyone who would say they'd used the products and found them to be of good quality, fit and finish. I'm hopeful to find out from someone that their products will turn out good. J

Is Rennspeed a Rennlist Sponsor? Want to let me know what's going on with this "Group Buy"???

Thanks.

My pleasure! Thanks for the e-mail earlier..

Good luck with the group buy! (I'm trying to convince Jen she needs clear lenses for her 964 - but with my luck, she'll want those in addition to those flashy looking aero-mirrors the rest of you folks have - and I'd be left having to install all that stuff!!!... ( )

911wings, I have the rennspeed photo at home somewhere, I decided against it due to it looking like a tea tray, bit too large for me, If I remember I'll post it.

I would like to get a classly looking three piece splitter. Not sure how much I like my one piece. I may be in for the lenses though.

What do you guys think. The orange does not look that bad on red cars. I have the clear on my 04 and my TT which are both dark colors and they are nice in appearance. Very clean look. #Would you do clear front lenses on a red car. Anyone have photos of the clear lenses on red.

I have a GR car, and I am doing the clear lenses because the orange ones I have are really old. I don't really care that I have the original orange ones from a looks perspective, but as I want to get the RUF style lip, I might as well get the clear lenses at the same time....

Just to clarify, I have not agreed any discount with Rennspeed for a group buy, from my point of view it is purely a freight saving exercise to the UK....just to avoid any misunderstanding...
