Default Getty Design RS America Wing

Has anyone got feedback on the Getty Design RS America wing?

http://gettydesign.com/911tailbases/...america-911-c2

Is installation as straight forward as removing the retractable wing and bolting in this wing to the opening?
Any damage or modification to the factory engine lid?
How was fit and finish of the wing, much sanding or shaping required, etc?

If not this wing, what about similar product from MA Shaw or others?

Thanks in advance.

It's good. Fitment, pretty good, they all require some finishing and prime work. No real reshaping needed.

Thanks for the feedback Spyrex, good info!

Am i right in my understanding that this bolts into the space where the retractable spoiler sits? No modification of the actual deck lid, just the tail?

You will need to:
remove the mechanism/wiring for the wing and the wing
drill the deck lid to allow the wint to attach to the deck lid
we also found some black aluminum mesh for below the wing grills
we used the gasket for the g series Carreras wing, it works but required some modification to fit as the 964 wing hole is smaller

Does anyone make a one piece RSA wing-and-decklid in CF or FRP? Seems like you lose out on the weight savings of a composite ducktail if you keep the metal decklid.

not that i found.

The deck lid once you remove all the crap is quite light. The wing and mechanism is heavy.

GT Racing sells the deck lid separately, but it offends me to pay twice when so many of the other tails + spoilers are integrated.
Maybe buying a used oem decklid without the spoiler is the way to go.

Or a 3.2 carrera lid, that is what the rsa used. But. It’s heavy!

Thanks mate, appreciate the information.
Shame that you have to drill the deck lid, was hoping that you only had to drill the wing so it could be reversed in the future if need be.

I just don't see any way around it. I'll post some pics later, have to go over to my garage where I keep this car later.

Spyerx, your car is an inspiration. Love the new wing (I just noticed it!)

Ah yeah that’s the one. Dp is good. When you get it. Had some friends with horror stories, very long lead times. Not on that wing but other stuff.
