What was supposed to be an easy DIY is turning into a frustrating morning :/ I have bent my engine carrier trying to unbolt my engine mounts. I don't know if I did not lift the engine enough or if it was simply way to stuck. Anyhow, I am not going to leave it like this obviously and still need new mounts.
Yeah. That’s all you need. But I’d get new bolts too :-) FWIW mine was not bent, but the metal is curveved and it was cracked at the mounts when we removed mine. The rothsport piece gussets all the weak points. You’d spend more having someone do it... theirs is nice.
soak that bad boy in Kroil or pb blaster overnight. Try some heat. It’ll let go. I’d use an impact wrench on it. It should let go.
I would ditch it and replace it with the rennline tubular carrier. Maybe ask them not to etch their name in 30 different places like their usual products The carrier is one of the few, truly, poorly engineered items from the factory.
After it’s bent, you can straighten it and add the gussets but for an extra $150 for a completely new tubular piece why bother? At least get any replacement directly from rennline and avoid the additional markup.
Pull all the way off, get a good hammer and straighten the mount out. Order the additional support brace that is a modification to strengthen the mount. Take both to a machine shop and get brace welded on to mount. Take home, sand, paint and reinstall. No more bending/ or bent mounting
I can see that happening pretty easily. I was surprised how much my engine dropped once I got the first bolt out. Luckily I had the jack adjusted so that it had slighted raised the rear of the car before the first bolt was off. Any less pressure, and it probably would have dropped too much and I'd be in you same situ. Dang.

Wasn't there a thread on replacing the carrier without removing the bumper?
Can be done- but it's so easy to remove the bumper that really should be done sans bumper.
Once the bumper is off, you remove the primary muffler, the tin, the heat shields- then unbolt the carrier and bolt the new one on. Super easy. Reassemble. Takes a day the first time, and two hours the second.
