Replaced my ICV today - Thank you Rennlist
My 964 has been having hot start issues. Cold start is fine, but hot it wouldn't want to start, wouldn't want to idle very well.
I did a search. Hot start problems seemed to center around Idle Control Valve issues. More searches said that you could clean the ICV, but the long term fix was replacement. Found a new OEM one on E-bay for 175. It arrived today. The only reason the fix took me a long time was because I dropped the wire clip for the electrical connector on top of the engine, and I had to remove the airbox to fish it off the top of the engine.
Also - found out that the hose clamps are called Oetiker clamps. Ordered a box of those as well as the crimping pliers, so the install could look OE.
Once swapped, I drove the car around to get it warm. Shut it down - waited for a bit and then restarted the car. Started up no problems. Idles no problems.
