Default Intro

My car’s just had its 30th birthday so I thought it’s time for an intro. 1990 C2 manual Baltic blue, first registered 1st December 1989. I bought in the summer at 117k miles with just 17k of those in the last 25 years. Mostly original with a few small oil leaks and tired suspension. Paint is original apart from the bumpers and in good condition underneath for a UK car.

So far:
SuperPro wishbone bushes
Tarett spring plates
refurbed calipers with 4 pot rear
Öhlins R&T

Still to go on
Eibach sway bars
Elephant bump steer kit
8J & 9J Cup 1s with MPSC2s
RS engine mounts
Rennline engine carrier
RS short shift and golden rod

and gradually reducing the weight, wiper delete, rear seats etc

Steve

I did that a couple months back. Super easy, and I'm very impressed with the Car-Bone rear wiper delete plug.

Default Öhlins

Got the car back together and had a short drive today to try out the Öhlins. I don’t have a good before and after comparison as I have changed the wheels, tyres, bump steer kit, steering bushes, steering wheel & sway bars as well. With the Öhlins set at 10 out of 20 clicks damping is excellent. Even on bumpy back roads the car is very predictable and goes where you point it. Hugely impressed.
Less impressed with the clearance to the front drop links. I fitted Tarett adjustables but barely have clearance to the flexible brake hose however I set it up. Would be interested to know if anyone else has a fix for this.
Steve

Hi Steve, I have the same great Baltic Blue Metallic car colour as you, as per the attached photo, but mine is a 1990 C4. Looking forward to seeing how you progress with the changes you are going to make! By the way where are you based, as you can see I am in Wrexham, North Wales.

Nice car ! The Baltic Blue is growing on me. I live in Switzerland but the car lives with my Mum near Nottingham. I’m in the UK quite often so making steady progress on my long jobs list. Been chasing oil leaks the last couple of days - all the usual places and more to do.
I think I have solved the clearance issue with the Öhlins to the front drop link by trimming the corner off the brake pipe bracket. Hopefully this doesn’t introduce other issues.
Steve
