potential purchase (965 vs 964)
Hi All,
I've been reading up a bit on posts and I wanted to toss a question out regarding a potential purchase. I was thinking about getting a 964 C2 (93 or 94) coupe, but I've come across a potential good buy on a 91 turbo. It has about 91K miles and has had all major service's done and all major items taken care of. Should I have any conerns about a higher milage turbo? This would be a weekend car cruiser, auto-x use and mild track use. I really love the turbo body and potential. My prior Porsche was a 86' 951 which was fun but a maintenance hog. I think that car wasn't fully sorted out which ensures I'm going to get a ppi done, etc. Any thoughts appreciated. Asking price is in the low 40's. From the ad it looks fully sorted and in exec condition.
Regards,
Paul

I don't know how well turbos hold up with high mileage. However, there's a Rennlist 965 board on which you can ask that question. On the left side of your screen where the different boards are listed, hit "Turbo" (just below "Water Cooled") and there will be a link to the 965 board. Those guys will be able to advise you.
Good luck!

Paul mine has 120,000 miles and as long as normal servicing done you should have no problems. I am biased but I love the 91 Turbo.
Standard or with a couple of small tweeks it brings a smile to the face every time you drive it.
cheers
