There's an item on Ebay currently, part number 965.512.052.01 described as Electric Hood latch....

...now that would make a nice upgrade...

Can someone look up the part number & tell me what it is?

Rob, I saw one of these before and thought the same thing. What I believe they are is the later latches that incorporate the lighting switch into the latch. The later 964's do not have the pin switches under the hood and deck lid.

dats same as on my 1993 .
same as 993 part i think .
can be used for other things , like alarm , extra lights etc.
mine has emergency relerases on bith front and rear lids , you could upgrade to this at least .
