I have a 1991 C 2 cabriolet With a continental radio that only works with the top up. If I put the top down the radio has power but no sound comes out. How is it possible that these 2 are related? Thanks for any ideas

 

It’s a noise pollution feature. Top down music off!!
Tyat or someone didn’t like the previous owners taste in music and rigged it to only play with the top up.

 

Is it just radio or also Bluetooth streaming?

 

Havnt tried bkyetooth but my guess is it won't work. Im thinking maybe the top is shorting out sone speaker wires. The radio itself has power

 

pinching wires with top, or pulling them away from connection. should be easy to trace rear speaker wire.
