Engine compartment light (help)
Does anyone know where the switch that controls the light in the engine compartment is located? The light does not shut off when the lid is closed, and for the life of me I can't find the ground switch that activates the light , assuming its the same setup as the door switches.
Thanks for any insight!

This is an interesting one...
Early cars have obvious switches for the engine lid and boot/trunk lid lights. Later ones had the switches incorporated into the latching mechanism.
My car (and others I have seen) has BOTH lights come on when either switch is operated. i.e. if you open the boot/trunk then the engine lid light comes on and vice versa. Might your boot have been open and this caused your engine light to be on?

This is interesting.. Both the engine compartment and boot are ON.. The boot's bulb was out, but after swaping it with a new one its lit too!! I guess my problem could be the front or the rear..

Most likely the front, the rear rarely fails. On the front the switch is in the right hand hinge assembly. You will see a black covered loom coming down to a white two pin connector stuffed in the hole at the rear right. Disconnect this connector. See if the engine bay light then goes out as well.
Fix the problem because otherwise it will flatten your battery.

Adrian,
Found it.. Its actually the same switch that the rear has, its a small black switch built into the boot locking mechanism, I pushed it a few times and now it seems to be working OK. I am concerned that is will "stop working" again at some point and leave me stranded
Thanks for the help!
