Ok - the journey continues:

- 993 Front and rear calipers arrived. Just waiting for the Rennline adapters and the 928 S4 rotors (928.351.043.60) to arrive now http://www.rennline.com/Rennline-Bra...ductinfo/CS04/
- Bought a 964 tool set from Suncoast and a Tire Compressor off ebay
- Bought heavy duty snaps and the pliers to install the new frunk carpet properly
Snaps Snaps
- Ordered the Continental TR Radio from Tore @ Bergville F/X Bergville F/X

Car drives great with no squeaks or rattles and is comfortable even with the RS suspension. There is a small oil leak that I still need to chase and then I think I will drive it for a while.

The snaps are interesting. I never thought of them as a solution and just kept sticking the carpet back on the weak velcro.

Learn something new every day. Thanks Frank!

Isn't it impressive when you drive a 30 odd year old car... and it doesn't rattle?!!!!

Exactly! Just the way the doors close is impressive for such an old car.

Moving along.

I am confused agin by this car. It is a 92 so it should have the velcro not the snaps. Do you have the snaps on the side? I have a full set from my 90 I removed if you find you need them. You should also have the larger front plastic piece that covers the latch.

As far as the velcro. IMO a bad decision by Porsche but people pulled on the carpet instead of the snaps so they pulled free from the carpet. The velcro works like garbage although if you trim the part on the carpeting back occasionally to get rid of the extra fuzz created by removing it I find it holds much better.

I was confused as well. It’s definitely a’92 but could be a late ‘92 and it has the snaps on the sides and the bottom. You need to look at it sometime.

My Cab is a '92 and has snaps on the sides and front and back edges. Much better solution than the Velcro patches in my '95 993, for sure.

I need to get up to see it or if you have time to swing down. I am actually finally finishing the installation of the solid rockers on my 993 engine. The modification took a bit more than I expected. Now onto building the custom intake and exhaust.

Porsche definitely used what they had back then apparently. I prefer the snaps myself. The velcro didn't last long they changed it again in 96.

So I've now spent close to $700 to get an air compressor, original toolkit and owner's manual. To all those buying 964s, make sure that stuff is included because these things are pricey!

Mine is a 94 model and came with the 993 part numbered air compressor. I was told it is original, but I have no way to be sure.

The 964 unit is much nicer in the way it is packaged... and for that price it better be, yikes 700 USD for a tool barely ever used (at least by me). It sure complements the car nicely though

Do you have the the detachable warning light but the unit looks the same? My 94 came with that one but I have seen 94's with those and with the original style missing the light. It is very hard to find a compressor with the tabs still attached and the three little attachments in the center.

I was able to see the new toy yesterday and it is very nice. The slick top is the best and I wish more came this way. The clear corners and repeaters work so nicely on the white car. The pictures don't do it justice. The new wheels all 5 are a very nice touch over the wheels it came with. It is fall driving season we need to find the time to get some drives in before the season is over. If I can just break away from all the projects. All the best.

Work continues: So I installed the Continental radio and I am totally blown away by how easy it was to install and what a great product this is for the price point.

Frank. Congrats on the purchase. Looking forward to seeing the progression and more pics. I myself just bought a wide body 964 which I have to completely overhaul, but the body is mint! Maybe I will start a thread soon.
