Stupid sunroof
I rarely open the damn thing...but the other night when I was closing it, it caught the little air damn thing in the front. No damage to the roof itself, and I caught it before it did anything visible to the air damn itself...what can I do to fix this?

Check the side spring hinges on the air spoiler to see if they are intact and working properly. They should pull the spoiler down as the sun roof slides forward the last few inches.

I’ve been working on mine recently. Pretty simple https://rennlist.com/forums/964-foru...refurb-84.html

Don't open it ever again.

Once it's fixed properly- it'll work fine, forever. These things are not really problematic- do you have any pics? Feel free to pm me and I'll give you my number if you want to talk through it. I'm sure it's something easy. Sunroofs are simple.

Let me take a look...it had been working, not sure why it crapped out. I'll shoot you a message if it isn't self evident. Those springs look to be cheap (albeit asymmetrical and priced accordingly).

the most necessary extra to this cars. open sunroof limits me to 250km/h over here. then it gets too loud...

The BEST solution.
Sunroofs and rear seat entertainment systems are the two most useless features/options ever.
Every one of my cars has a sunroof that I never open.
Two of my cars have rear seat entertainment systems that have never been used. The other day I noticed that the plastic screen protector was still there.
I suspect even in today "smart phone" world the entertainment systems will remain due to the HUGE profit margins as they are usually bundled into some sort of premium options.

Ha!
I was driving up in CT last August with the sunroof open and when I went to close it at a gas station the same thing happened.
I'll come clean and admit that I haven't even LOOKED at it let alone opened it since then-- Maybe I'll open it up this afternoon and check the springs. Seemed strange as it opened and closed normally the day before it caught the airdam. Will take pics and report back!
