Default Brake upgrade question...

To all porsche brake guru’s please chime in..

I have an 89’ 964 c4 and came across a good deal ($2000) on a used set of complete 965 turbo brake calipers and rotors for front and rear.
It happens it just came off a late model c2. Im looking to put them on my c4. Is there any downside to doing this “brake upgrade?”

(I only ask cause some have told me i SHOULD be doing 993TT fronts and 993 rears.)

thanks in advance.

front:
The 965 front wheel carrier is different from a C2 or /4 wheel carrier. You need to swap wheel carriers or get a caliper adapter. Otherwise its a straight bolt on.

Rear:
In back the 965 calipers have the better 30/34 piston sizes that 993 rear would give but are wider and want 28mm thick rotors which are not available to fit your car. So the rears are pretty useless for your
application.

In back you want 993 rear calipers, not 993RS or 993tt, The rotors can be either stock or the 951 M030 rears that the 964RS used.
