Default Porsche "Classic Technical Certificate"

Guys, if this has been covered I apologize - but I searched the 964 Forum and found no reference to this program.

i have been out of North America for over three years so have not been engaged very much and have not driven the speedster - as I am ramping up again I started researching further on my car provenance and history - and reached out to PCNA on what services they can provide and got the email below.

has anyone completed this CTC process, Any insights or thoughts ....

Dear Mr. C,,,,,,,,,

Thank you for contacting Porsche Cars North America in regard to your Classic Speedster. It is a pleasure to hear from you, and we are happy to provide some resources you may find helpful in your research.

Similar to a birth certificate for a Porsche, we offer what is called the Porsche Production Specifications document (PPS); formerly referred to as the Certificate of Authenticity. This document lists vehicle specific information such as original manufacture options, exterior color, interior color, etc. Should you decide to purchase one, the order form can be found on our website. For your convenience, I have attached one to this email as well.

We are proud to announce the arrival of a new certificate, the Classic Technical Certificate (CTC). This certificate provides the original data of your vehicle and is the only way to assure accuracy. The CTC lists vehicle specific information that is verified using the original records and includes a 63-point inspection performed by a Porsche Classic-trained technician. The CTC can only be obtained through our Porsche Classic Partners.

Porsche Classic Partners are authorized Porsche dealerships that specialize in the care and maintenance of classic cars, just like yours. With support from the factory and specially trained technicians, they would be in a good position to assist you with any questions you may have. You can find their contact information by visiting the following link: https://www.porsche.com/usa/accessor...assic-partner/

For more information on these two certificates, we invite you to visit our website: https://www.porsche.com/usa/accessor...leinformation/

Mr. C,,,,,,,,,,,,,, we thank you for your time and hope you find this information useful.

Best regards,

Annalise D.

Yup, got the same response when I tried to obtain a COA for my 92 Cup Car. The dealer that updated the services on my car claimed they are a certified classic P car service dealer

It sounds like Porsche is copying Ferrari’s Classiche program. See: https://magazine.ferrari.com/en/cars...-pieces-52055/

It's funny go back 10 years and Porsche wanted nothing to do with the older Porsche's running around- fast forward and some bright person noticed hey some of these old junkers are selling for some pretty serious coin we need an in on that action. I knew it was crazy when I had Porsche dealerships coming to me looking for correct parts to restore cars.

Classiche is VERY controversial in the vintage Ferrari community. They will refuse to certify your vintage Ferrari with a non-original (but still period correct) engine unless you buy one of their Classiche engine blocks for $100k+. They also sub out the actual fab work on the cars to Modena-area companies at a hefty mark-up, since the Ferrari itself can't actually do the work.

You can have the build sheet with all dates and options for the car for free if You ask a Porsche cetrified garage. I did that and they just printed it for me!

All information you could possibly ask for down to the make of the original tires.
