I have a C4 with the batphone. It's super-cool, but I am looking to simplify the interior. Does anyone know which control panels I would need for the swap? Obviously I need a new center console as well. Thanks for any help as always. This forum is incredible.

I found one on eBay, but look at the differences to the back of the switches. Doesn't seem like it would work.

Here is the eBay part:



It has round plugins on the rear:

And you can see the difference on the back of the plugs:

Do the rocker switches light up at all? It could be the 5-pin versus 3-pin is due to this. If not then I'm out of immediate ideas.

Looks to me like you might have to modify your harness to make the standard center console control work or just splice into it so you don't want to cut it.

I have an 89 and it just has the single diff. control, but the plug on the back is round like the newer spoiler and diff ***** you have in the image.

Yours probably has power and maybe sound running to the phone which would explain the square connection.

It also appears that my 5 pin are just 2 way switches and the 3 pin are 3 way switches. Full disclosure: I am terrible with electronics.

I did a bit of digging because this has my interest.



Check out this page on replacing the lights with LEDs. You'll notice the connectors are square like yours. That is for the top part and the lower with the round plugs are for the switch *****.

<edit> That's the top piece with the 3 buttons. Those all seem to be similar. It's the AWD and rear spoiler that seem to be different.

Okay, some great news(!) and some more confusion.

The good news is, there are adapters on my harness that are removable! (this is the first I have been back out to the car since ripping it apart)







The bad news is, is the entire bottom of the trans tunnel different on standard vs. phone ones? I think I will have a huge hole if I simply replace it with a standard center console. UGH, why can't this just be easy?
