Default Time to replace my taillights?

Hi,

need some collective wisdom.

Besides the fact that there are plenty of hairline cracks I was hoping for a deeper red from my taillights.
Do taillights fade?
Is it time to replace them?

There is no proper remedy for this, bite the bullet and buy a new set from suncoast they are around $1000 and will really change the look of the car. OR you may find a good used set, call Mike at Autobahn dismantlers (not sure if he as any as i just bought a set from him)

When you put newer ones side by side against old faded ones you really see the diff it makes.

Taillights with the ambers and the RUF center reflector delete panel is the best look in my opinion. If you want to be cheap, for like $10 they sell red spray paint that is meant to recolor plastic. Works ok.

When buying the reflectors as a complete set, do they normally come with gaskets included or separate? I would imagine they're ok to re-use unless damaged?

The center light does include the top gasket only. The other gaskets will all need to be reused. The new corner lights are designed to be used without gasket.

My, new to me 964, passenger tail light would develop condensation after a rain. Looked into new lights but now it does not come with new gaskets?

Well, when I ordered mine I looked at the state of decay all other rubber parts were in and I decided to play it safe and ordered new gaskets all around

Do the new lights hold up better than the old ones?

Bit late to this topic, but Dansk do a reflector lens only kit for the rears. This is the lens plus adhesive. I did this with a friend the other week. Done carefully and with patience it looks pretty good when done. Much cheaper than having to swap out the entire light unit.
