Migrating over from Pelican since my '88 Carrera was rear-ended TWICE in one year. The last one totaling it. ( http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...ear-ended.html.) I finally replaced it with a 1990 C4.
97,000 miles, Bilstein PSS10, 5mm & 15mm wheel spacers w/new lugs, Fabspeed Bypass Pipe, spring plate monoballs, Lightweight RS flywheel & clutch and a Steve Wong chip. Plus service history back to 1990 and $13K for seals and such on 11/2017 while the engine was out for the clutch. Need less to say, I'm stoked! I searched the entire US, and finally found this one in Pennsylvanian. Had a PPI, flew down, drove it and bought it! New to the C4 platform, but I'm in Minnesota and I plan on driving it as much as I can. So the all wheel drive made sense to me.
Was warned that there may be a stalling issue with the lightweight clutch. But the Steve Wong chip seems to have mitigated any stalling since I've been driving it.
Wow, what a car. Really liking the difference from the older '88. So different yet so much the same.
Anyways, one question so far. Is there a plastic film over the gauges? It sort of looks looks/feels like there is on mine.

Congratulations!
and, yes, there is a plastic film over most of the gauges. It it *not* intended to be removable though, it’s more like an integral part of the acrylic-faced gauges. I initially though it was removable as I had a little bubble on my oil temp/pressure gauge and tried to peel it. Now I need a new lens. Yay me.

Beautiful car, congrats!
I read each page of your story on Pelican. What an incredible story. Thankfully you weren’t hurt (either time. The car gave its life to save yours.
The brake lights on these cars are 30 years old. Bergvill FX carries a great LED Brake-light Kit , they’re brighter, quicker and safer. Happy motoring!
