Also talked to a guy with a great story car who was rejected...then I see some other cars there... I mean, I’m certainly no judge but it’s easy to imagine how this might be too big for a “selection” process like this. Can’t get em all right.

This was my first Luft and I had a fantastic time but it didn’t have the vibe I expected based on what I heard and saw online from previous events.
Didn't make it last year but have been to the prior ones. Think the one I liked best was the one at the Modernica furniture factory in Vernon. Cool venue, you parked your car with all the others...easy

It's an Allgaier P312 Porsche-System Plantation tractor. Sold in Brazil only IIRC, for use on coffee plantations.

Not only fewer 964’s but fewer cars overall - 350ish vs 600 last year.

I still think that they are doing an amazingly good job of coping with the incredible growth of the event while maintaining its roots. The Universal lot was a great location and able to accept significantly more people without feeling overcrowded. The only poor aspect IMO is the limited number of alcohol stands/locations!

I was in at 8 and left at 2:30 - had to wait a total of 30mins. No biggie.

I enjoyed the parking structure at about 7:45am on the way in, and again around 10:30am on the way out. GT3T's, Singer, seemed to be plenty of 964's, 993's, etc.

Haha, the parking structure was pretty impressive. Lots of cars with "For Sale" signs too, lol.

Looks like a fun time. I believe this is the 914 my friend painted for Gaspare a few months back. Very cool to see it finished

Loved the event, knew a bunch of people would be pissed with the selection process but I think they did a great job curating the right cars and putting them in the right places. If my 993 wasn't selected I wouldn't have felt bad because the examples that were picked were some of the best or had great stories. Loved the added small shops like Fourtillfour Coffee serving in the West and Porsche classic doing full buildout of a classic gas station.

It was very busy and tougher to meet people this year do to the geographic difference of the location, but the same challenges made the displays great. we spend the last 2 hours of so in the park square in front of the courthouse which had a great vibe going and plenty of good conversation. Look forward to coming out for the next one, but wouldn't be surprised if they need a break or a change to smaller events after this one, as I can't imagine the logistics required will be fun to top.

That car was super clean, the engine was a work of art. Not sure why I didn't take a pic. I have a buddy building a 914 that wanted pics so I went a little overboard on them. While 964's were light this year, 914's were in full effect!

Standing in line at 7:45 and watching all the cars entering the garage was a great cure for not being selected for storyline, lol! There was some heavy artillery for sure.

Apparently the 914 turning 50 out shadowed the 964 turning 30. IMO they should have both been celebrated although the 914 has been the red headed stepchild of Porsche for far longer than the 964. LOL

Gaspare did a great job on the engine IIRC it was a 2.9L build. Pino did a very nice job with the bodywork and paint in its original yellow gold. The car was a mess when he got it. Would loved to have seen the finished product in person.

So true, and both have had quite a run on their values, especially the C2/RSA/RS and the 914-6.

Ah that rumor keeps persisting. Not sure that one is true...

It was a fun event, always good to see some amazing cars, in a fun venue, and chat with a bunch of porsche nuts.

My Orange car was parked all alone in NYC and got a lot of smiles. That color is like moths to a flame :-) (pictures not mine, found on Instagram)

I picked it up off BAT back in December. 100% impulsive buy. I'd been dabbling in finding one that fit my desired use of cars (I don't like "stock" cars) The previous owner had bought it off a guy that owned it since 1976 and spent a very fair amount of $ making it nice, by one of the best porsche techs out there (Kurt at Partsklassik in Flagstaff). I paid up tho, for a T that's not all original (it IS a 1414 car though). But, It was my sort of car, done nice, but not "perfect" and not "numbers match" so I can mildly modify it to be a great car to drive. And it is. Its stupid fun, makes great noises, drives SO nice, plenty quick with the 2.7 in it.
You can see the link in my signature with a few more details on the journey.

P.S. Mooty is a devil. He hasn't yet got me convinced I need a 914 tho. And I will go on record that I got a G body first, before he got his :-)
