Exhaust fumes smell inside when the heater is on!
Hello,
As per the subject, on the recent longer drive during our British winter I had quite a strong exhaust/fuel smell inside the cabin. What are the usual suspects?

Check the connection on the hoses that run between the heat exchangers and the chassis.

I had the same issue, it turned out to be power steering fluid leaking into the right side heat exchanger. In my case it was the seal on the cam shaft that was leaking.

If it was exhaust you'd probably be experiencing some health problems. Typically odors in the heat system are leaking fluids on our around the engine or exhaust system. I'll bet if your car was put on a lift and checked out, you'll find leaking fluid somewhere. 964 exhaust systems are stainless and very robust, and leaking exhaust gasses into the heater envelope is rare.
